Our names are Rodney and Pamela Komlofske and we are located in Fayetteville, North Carolina
When we were first married and both in the US Army, we were assigned to different bases, Rod was at Ft. Bragg, NC and Pam at Ft. Lewis WA. Pam had her dog [Glen] with her and he had got loose and run over. To replace Glen, she purchased a Liver and White English Springer Spaniel. who was named Squirt. Pam was in love and Rod grew to love the breed once we were assigned together. In 1985, Rod came down on orders for Drill Sergeant and we had to move. We couldn’t take our dogs so we found new homes for them. At the time we had Squirt and two white German Shepherds Sugar and Fritz.
A few years after Rod’s retirement from the Army in 1999 we decided to get us another English Springer Spaniel. We found a Black and White who we named Allie. A couple of years later we decided to become a breeder because we couldn’t find many kennels that had Springers here in NC that were registered with AKC. We needed a male and found one in Sparta, NC. Gabriel is also a black and white.
Tragedy stuck the gentleman who we got Allie from when a stranger evaded his home, killed his male sire and took a litter of his puppies while he was away. He knew we had a new litter from Allie and Gabe and asked if we wanted to trade a male for one of his females so he would have a new Sire. Now we had two females who happened to have the same parents., Allie and Eve along with Gabe.
Years passed with many litters born and placed so we retired Allie. Eve is also retired. Gaberal passed away July 2022.
We needed to find younger females and a new male for breeding.
From one of Eve’s last litters we decided to keep a female. We also gave a female pup to two of our daughters. Victoria has Violet in Houston and Anna who still lives in Fayetteville has Luna. Luna stays with us most days while Anna is at work. Anna and her husband Devin assist us with the kennel when we are away.
We also found a liver and white male in Virginia [Squirt ll] and a liver and white female in Pennsylvania [Kimra].
